Recap On Western Regional Teams In The Sprite Ball Championship – Day 1

The 12th edition of the Sprite Ball Championship which commenced on Friday 11th January 2019 witnessed Western Regional teams giving teams a round for their money.

Sekondi College who are the new comers of the tournament surprised everyone by beating 2018 champions Presec OSU by 26 – 20 but wowed the organizers when they demolished Volta Regional rep Bishop Heman College by whipping them 34 – 9.
Sekondi College will be facing Greater Accra rep West African Secondary School in the quarter final stage .

St. Johns who are old folks of the tournament, where taught a lesson by five time champions Mfantsipim by loosing 19 – 39 but redeemed themselves in their next game against Keta Business College by winning 35 – 17 making them qualify to the quarter finals stage to face Ashanti Regional rep Opoku Ware Secondary School.

Shama Senior High School in the girls division won all two games remaining a game that will be played tomorrow.
In their first game, they annihilated Nkawkaw Senior High School by 20 – 9 and won against Accra Wesley Girls by 22-19.
